Description

Shortly after being elected to the Hall of Fame, Mike Schmidt was proclaimed "Baseballs Greatest 3rd Baseman" by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association, with the presentation of this Special Achievemnt Award. As noted on the title plate at top of this stately plaque, this award was presented to Schmidt on January 23, 1995, during the PSWA's 91st Annual Dinner, which was held at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Philadelphia. Schmidt is pictured at center tracking one of his many majestic blasts, as it leaves the yard. Projecting trememdous display appeal, this handsome award shows little in the way of wear.
