Lot # 1329: 1947 Walter Johnson Memorial Game Program (St. Louis Browns at Washington Senators)

Saturday, June 21st, 1947, was the “Walter Johnson Memorial Unveiling Game” between Washington and St. Louis. This official scorecard from the game features a photo of the memorial for “The Big Train” on the cover. The inside has a detailed biography of his career, and the center pages are a heavier stock for the scorecard, which is scored showing the Washington team defeating St. Louis 3-2. The last two inside pages feature “Box Scores of Walter Johnson’s 7 Opening Game Shutouts.” The 7x10 ½ scorecard is in Very Good condition.
