Description

Bucknell University was where the great Christy Matthewson began his career in baseball. This proposal/program guide for a Memorial Rotunda celebrating the New York Giants pitcher was to be built in Lewisburg, PA to honor “a son of Bucknell with a fitting gymnasium where youth may learn of his fame and character and build for themselves strong bodies and healthy minds.” The eight-page booklet is in Good to Very Good condition with artists renderings of the proposed Mathewson Memorial Rotunda and Gymnasium, as well as a blueprint on the last page.
