Lot # 927: 1900 "A Ball Players Career" by Cap Anson

First edition of A Ballplayer’s Career by Cap Anson (published by the Era Publishing Co., Chicago, 1900). The 339-page book covers Anson's life in baseball and also devotes several pages to the 1888/89 World Tour. Numerous photographs are featured throughout the book. The offered example, measuring 5-1/2 x 8 inches, is in remarkable condition, with only a few very small marks on the reverse hardcover as well as a faint stain near the spine on front (it is barely noticeable except under close inspection). This is one of the finest examples of this classic baseball book we have ever handled!
