Served up is a circa 1970s Hall of Famer and star multi-signed baseball. A Wilson Official Professional League model, this ball hosts a total of (13) signatures, including (11) Hall of Famers. The other two signers are Paul Kerr, who served as the museum’s president from 1961-1978, and Luke Sewell, whose brother Joe was inducted in 1977. One of the Hall of Famers is Cal Hubbard, the only individual to be enshrined in both the Baseball and Football Halls of Fame. Hubbard was a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 1976, and he died on October 17, 1977.
The signatures are all pleasing examples, and the baseball remains attractive. The complete list of signers is: Sweet spot: Burleigh Grimes, Paul Kerr; north panel: Joe Cronin, Joe Sewell, Monte Irvin; south panel: Stanley Coveleski, Cal Hubbard, Luke Sewell; east panel: Lloyd Waner, “Cool Papa” Bell; west panel: Bob Feller, “Red” Ruffing, Billy Herman.
Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
