In a sign of the times, this WWII era souvenir is postmark-dated July 29, 1942, with a Buy Defense Savings Bonds and Stamps cancellation stamp from a St. Louis post office. Harris was serving as manager of the Washington Senators at the time and their schedule had them facing the St. Louis Browns when Harris returned this GPC to a South Dartmouth, Massachusetts fan. Harris' steel-tip fountain pen signature remains bold and appealing.
