Description

Graded Authentic by PSA. Rising to the occasion is what wins championships. Though the Brooklyn Dodgers had many opportunities in the 1940s-1950s, it was the mighty New York Yankees that did most of the rising. The "Bronx Bombers" beat their crosstown rivals five times in the World Series between 1941-1953. The table finally turned in 1955, when the "Boys of Summer" rose up in unison to win their first World Series championship, helped in part by Sandy Amoros' historic catch. On a team filled with Hall of Famers and All-Stars, it was third starter Johnny Podres who proved to be the key man. Podres shutdown the Yankees potent attack in Games 3 and 7 to earn the first ever World Series MVP award. Classically styled with the famous Yankees top hat and bat logo, this regal ducat reports as bright with bold graphics, including a prominent "Game 7" identification.
