Description

A formidable lineup of Timely Comics' iconic Golden Age super-heroes, and master creators, makes this 2/41 Marvel Mystery Comics #16 issue a must for dedicated collectors. The lion's share of Alex Schomburg's explosive cover is allocated to fiery android, the Human Torch. Seen on a sidebar at left, are Sub-Mariner, Vision, and Angel, who appear in backup stories. An intriguing alien law enforcement officer from the Smokeworld dimension, the Vision is a Simon & Kirby creation, who first appeared a few months earlier, in issue #13 of this famous, long-running Timely anthology title. A bright, attractive example, this early WWII-era comic is CGC graded 6.0, Cream to Off-White Pages, in a Restored Grade holder, with a Slight (B-1) restoration assessment. Label notes are "Bill Everett & Jack Kirby story and art, Paul Gustavson, Carl Burgos and Bob Oksner art, Alex Schomburg cover. Restoration includes: small amount of color touch on cover.".
