From the get it while you can department, comes this 10/41 Elliott Publishing Spitfire Comics #2 issue. Overstreet sites this WWII era digest-sized comic book as "Rare". Supporting this claim, is the CGC Population Report, which shows the leading certification service has graded just eight copies of this tough issue to date. CGC has graded the example offered here 5.5, Off-White Pages. This grade designation makes this nicely preserved comic "1 of 1" at the highly respectable 5.5 level, with just one graded higher. Seen on the front cover, is super-hero Fly-Man, who is the star attraction of this 100-page anthology. Only two issues of this Golden Age rarity were published, and both the #1 and #2 issues are being offered in this current auction, with the #1 issue graded a notch higher than this #2 issue. These long-secluded pocket comics are seeing the light of day for the time since being acquired by a savvy collector decades ago, and they are being presented straight back from grading. Given the size of this ancient treasure, kids literally shoved their copies in their pockets, and this hardy survivor merits serious consideration for its pleasing quality, and true scarcity. Label notes are "Sam Glanzman cover and art. Malcolm Kildale, John Giunta, Ed Winiarski and Frank Frollo art.".
