Financial wizards make a strong move, to claim this 1912 Boston Red Sox stock certificate. Dated 3/6/1912, this Boston American League Base-Ball Club certificate was issued to team treasurer Bob McRoy, in the amount of fifty shares, valued at $100. A raised corporate seal at bottom centers the signatures of former Major Leaguer Jimmy McAleer as President, and Bob McRoy as Treasurer. McRoy has signed a second time, in conclusion of a cancellation entry written diagonally across the center of the obverse. Signatures on the reverse are Joseph Lannin, who bought the Red Sox in 1913, and McRoy for a third time, as he sold these shares to Lannin as part of the takeover. The 1912 season was a whopper for the Sox, as they moved into the newly constructed Fenway Park in April, and finished their record setting 105-47 season, with a triumph over the New York Giants in the World Series. Looks like everyone involved walked away winners, and you'll be joining them when you assume control of this crisp certificate, which bears a total of five potent signatures from McAleer (d.1931), McRoy (X3, d.1917), and Lannin (d.1928).
