Washington Senators star shortstop/third baseman Cecil Travis was nearing the end of his productive career, when this Testimonial Game Official Scorecard was issued in his honor at Griffith Stadium. This gameday souvenir is dated August 15, 1947, for a Senators home game versus the Philadelphia Athletics. Travis has neatly signed and personalized the front cover at bottom right, in nice contrast against his jersey. While Travis was a career .314 hitter, he lost four years of playing time to WWII military service, costing him his shot at Hall of Fame enshrinement. The unused scorecard reports in VG condition.
JSA basic cert/sticker.
