Description

"Double X" marks the spot for a great collecting treasure, with this Jimmie Foxx signed baseball. Though the factory labeling is no longer discernible, there are several clubhouse signatures on this ball, including Mickey Vernon and Roy Sievers, suggesting the considerably toned ball dates to circa 1954-1955, when their careers overlapped with the Washington Senators. Foxx (d.1967) has provided the only genuine signature on this baseball, a bold and prominent signature on the north panel, that makes the clubhouse signatures pale in comparison. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1951, Foxx ranks high up on the list of all-time greatest sluggers.
