Jackie Robinson makes a welcome appearance, with this 1952 Direct Advertising Company wall calendar. Reporting as complete, with a a 12-month calendar of tear-off pages at bottom, this vintage advertising piece is printed with information for a local charter bus transportation company, based in Cambridge, Maryland. This piece is sized at 10" x 17" overall, with a photograph of Robinson printed with a facsimile signature, affixed to the backer. The cover frame is sized slightly smaller than the backer, revealing the Robinson photograph in a 7" x 9-1/2" window. Purposed for wall-hanging, a length of purple twine is threaded through a couple of hole punches at top. Signs of attrition are relatively modest, with the worst affliction being a small bit of surface loss at the top-right corner of the backer. The Robinson photograph is crisp and clean, as are the calendar pages, and this piece remains very attractive.
The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
