Description

The National Sports Councils “Live Like a Champion” program from 1958 used a promotional physical fitness training kit featuring Mickey Mantle. The 11x14 folder with “The Mick” on the cover has 6 pieces in all (inside pieces are Excellent or better, cover is VG-EX). Includes a training program on the inside with Yogi Berra, Bob Cousy, Doak Walker and Joe Lewis. The folder includes a fold-out picture of Mantle and the other (4) athletes at a table with an official of the council, a large photo of Ted Kluzewski, as well as a certificate of completion for “the Manly Art of Sports.” Also included is a large 11x14 paper premium photo (VG-EX) of Mantle in full swing, and a glossy 8x10 premium photo of Mantle with an embossed script name (EX).
