As ever, basketball’s greatest architect “Red” Auerbach is seen with a cigar in hand, on the front cover of this 4/21/95 Boston Celtics program. This commemorative program comes from the Celtics final game at the original Boston Garden arena. In one capacity or another, Auerbach was with a Celtics institution from 1950, until his death in 2006. During his tenure as head coach, general manager, president, and vice chairman, the Celtics won eighteen championships. Many talented players suited up for the NBA’s greatest dynasty, and Auerbach was always moving the pieces around, to keep the winning tradition going at full steam. As the man who built the Celtics dynasty, it's fitting that Auerbach was chosen to appear on the front cover of this commemorative publication. Auerbach has signed on the front, next his photograph, and his stylish signature is a solid application.
