Two of baseball's greatest hitters are paired up, with these two signed index cards. Nap Lajoie and Tris Speaker both rank among the top 20 all-time batting leaders. Both played the majority of their careers with the Cleveland Indians, and both were enshrined as Indians, as members of the Hall of Fame Class of 1937. Both served significant portions of their careers as player-managers for Cleveland, and in the end, they died just two months apart, with Sisler departing on December 8, 1958and Lajoie on February 7, 1959. Lajoie and Speaker both provided a lucky fan with well-centered signatures on these 3x5 cards, with Lajoie's "Larry Lajoie" autograph rating as "9", while Speaker's autograph is a hair softer, as an "8.5" example. Lajoie has included the date inscription "1-29-54," and the cards have similar tape residue on the ends, without affecting the signatures.
Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
