Lot # 1040: 6/18/56 Mickey Mantle Signed Sports Illustrated Magazine with "No. 7" Inscription

A magnificent player in the midst of a magnificent season is recalled, with this Mickey Mantle signed and inscribed Sports Illustrated magazine. Dated 6/18/56, this sixty year-old issue was published during Mantle’s greatest season, when he won both the Triple Crown, and the AL MVP award. Mantle made the front cover of this particular publication, and many years later, he made his mark, with as fine a signature as you could ask for, accompanied by the coveted inscription “No. 7”. Free of ever having born a mailing address label, this nicely preserved magazine reports in attractive state.
