Description

Everyone knows Branch Rickey as the General Manager who signed Jackie Robinson and helped integrate Major League baseball, but he was also instrumental in creating the framework for the modern Minor League Farm System. This letter dated Friday, July 16th,1933, is in Excellent condition on “St. Louis National Baseball Club” stationery. It is addressed to Mr. Gustavus W. Thompson of Painesville, OH. The typewritten letter is neatly signed (”8-9”) by Branch Rickey, who was vice president of the club at the time.
