Description

Jules Massenet was a French composer of the Romantic era, best known for his operas. One of the most popular composers of his time, he was to France as Puccini was to Italy. Critics are trying to find his place in history. His operas are now widely accepted as well-crafted and intelligent products of the Belle Epoque. These five notes written and signed (“7-8”) by the composer “Massenet” or “J. Massenet” and each have Full LOA's from James Spence/JSA. Each note is in French and are written on 4 ½ x 7 sheets (EX or better). One note consists of (2) 4 ½ x 7 sheets, and one is 4 ½ x 5. One is accompanied by a newspaper article about him with a photo.
