Description

The Baltimore Orioles were one of the American League’s eight charter teams in 1901. Their first year they were the Milwaukee Brewers before they moved to St. Louis to become the St. Louis Browns in 1902. After 52 years in St. Louis, the franchise was purchased in 1953 by a syndicate of Baltimore business interests.

This collection of pennants from the 1950s and 1960s includes a 1954 inaugural “scroll” pennant from their first year, as well as a 1966 World Series pennant, when they became the last club from the eight AL charter franchises to win a World Series.

Also included are (3) 1958 All-Star pennants, (2) with the scroll of American League All-Stars (Mantle, Berra, Williams, etc.), and (1) with the scroll of National League All-Stars (Aaron, Mays, Musial, etc.), both featuring the Oriole in Memorial Stadium. There are (2) additional Baltimore Orioles pennants from the time period. The condition of this group of 30” length pennants is very nice, averaging VG-EX to EX-MT. They all have three very small pin holes except for the 1966 World Series pennant which is EX-MT or better.

The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
