Description

Recall the familiar feel and inviting appeal of venerable Memorial Stadium, with the acquisition of this double-sided Baltimore Colts tin sign. Sized at 36” x 24”, this ancient relic is a no-nonsense presentation, with the word “Colts” on one side, and “Team” on the opposite side. The color scheme is Colts blue and white, with white block lettering against a blue background. Moderate wear provides a great period authentic look, and the lettering shows strong integrity on both sides. Pre-drilled holes are located near the rounded corners at one end only, suggesting this metal sign hung in a fashion protruding into a concourse passageway. A pair of Colts alumni have signed on both sides of the sign, with Gino Marchetti and Lou Michaels. The (4) total silver felt-tip marker signatures average (“8” to “9”) potency. Marchetti has accompanied both of his signatures with the inscriptions “89, HOF 72”, and Michaels has followed suit with “#79” on both sides.
