A hard-nosed player, and a cunning manager, Jennings was renowned for his on-field antics from the third base coach's box. While serving as manager for the Detroit Tigers from 1907-1920, his trademark shouts of Ee-Yah delighted the hometown crowd, as did his whoops, whistles and gyrations.
