Description

Revisit the NFL’s only perfect season, with this 1/14/73 Super Bowl program bundle (16). Led by Hall of Fame head coach Don Shula, the Miami Dolphins scorched the league during the 1972 regular season, racking up a 14-0 record. The Dolphins kept up their winning ways in the postseason, with 3 more wins, to finish 17-0, as Super Bowl VII champions. Founded in 1966 as an AFL squad, Miami floundered until coach Shula was hired in 1970, and they quickly became a force to be reckoned with. A potent, well-rounded offense paired with the “No-Name Defense”, to lead the NFL in total offense, total defense, scoring offense, and scoring defense, a combined feat that is also a singular NFL happening. For good measure, this Dolphins team went back-to-back, winning Super Bowl VIII as well.

Issued for a 1/14/73 meeting with the Washington Redskins at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, each of these (16) Super Bowl VII programs is affixed with a “Washington Redskins Special Souvenir Edition” gold sticker in the same spot, below the title and next to the spine. Presenting as unread, these nicely preserved big game souvenirs show championship caliber quality across the board. The only slight detractions are the factory staples poking through the covers, and minor spine roll on two of them. The covers are clean and glossy, the spines are solid and tight, and the edges and corners are sharp, leading to a very satisfying condition average of (NM to NM-MT+).
