Description

Time to get small, with this 1862-1874 U.S. fractional note collection. Pressed into service due to a coin shortage during the Civil War, these small format notes range in denominations of 3¢ to 50¢. Silver and gold were being hoarded as paper money was being devalued versus precious metals, so coins were carrying a premium at this time of great conflict and upheaval. Seldom will you find an offering of so many pieces at once, making this bundle of shinplasters a sweet score.
