Description

A fine bit of baseball archaeology has turned up this 1906 Columbus Senators team photograph postcard. Based in Columbus Ohio, the Senators were in the midst of a three-season consecutive run of American Association championships, spanning the period 1905-1907. Player identifications are handwritten on the obverse of this ancient relic, which came from a redemption series of sixteen postcards offered by the Columbus Dispatch newspaper. Printed at bottom on the obverse, is the caption "Columbus Base Ball Team for 1906. Twice champions of the American Association". Condition is Gd, and the image area presents distinctly.
