Description

The Danbury Mint kept it in the family with the creation of this 2004 Willie Mays and Barry Bonds deluxe statue set. Teamed with Barry's dad Bobby from 1968-1972 as star players with the San Francisco Giants, Mays stood Godfather to Barry. Rendered in batting poses, these handsome figures stand approximately 7" tall, on an arched wood base spanning 17". Centering these very realistic statues, is a "Mays 660 Bonds" brass title plate, affixed to the top of the base. Mays finished his career with 660 home runs, and Bonds matched Mays' total on April 13, 2004, the same year this statue set was released. Also seen on top of the base, are gold facsimile signatures, located next to the front foot of each superstar. Condition is like-new, and display appeal is off the charts. Housed in its original shipping box with fitted styrofoam packing, this deluxe set comes with a Danbury Mint COA, cover letter and posing instructions.
