Description

The grand tradition of 20th Century barnstorming is recalled, with the viewing of this 1920s House of David baseball team full uniform. Based out of Benton Harbor, Michigan, the House of David colony fielded multiple teams, that traveled far and wide to display their high-level brand of long hair, bearded baseball. An outstanding representative of HOD’s barnstorming mission to raise money for the colony, this antique uniform is complete with jersey, pants and stirrups.

All three garments show extensive wear, including considerable sweat staining. The front of the button-down jersey is lettered in blue patches with “House of David”, and the back is lettered with “Globe Ballroom”. A sizeable hole on the right-front side of the jersey has been repaired, while a small hole on the left-front tail has not. All letter patches and accent stripes remain full, and the heavy wool material has softened to a comfortable feel. The pants are also outfitted with buttons, and the belt loops and back pocket remain securely attached. All in all, this antique uniform is blessed with an incredible look of period authenticity and abundant display appeal.
