Lot # 1307: 1930s-1940s Balboa Olds Industrial League Satin Baseball Uniform Jersey, Pants & Jacket Set

Seeing red is unavoidable, with the viewing of this 1930s-1940s Balboa Olds industrial league uniform set. This visible from space 3-piece set is comprised with a jersey, pants and jacket, in shocking red and white satin. Pride and recreation were the driving factors for the player who wore this vintage uniform eighty to ninety years ago, while representing a local San Diego automobile dealership. Located inside the collar of the jersey, is a KGM Sportswear, San Diego California label, and the back is lettered with Balboa Olds patches. The matching pants have the same supplier’s label inside the waistband, with the size 32 stamped on the label. A different supplier is credited for the jacket, which has a Stanley Andrews Sport Goods, San Diego California label inside the collar, with an adjacent size 40 Spanjian, Pasadena tag. All three garments show excellent signs of use/wear, including soiling, staining, sporadic fading and general attrition. With deference to the absence of one jacket button, this ancient uniform ensemble remains intact, with off the charts display appeal.
