Go yard for this pair of gameday souvenirs from Willie Mays career hit #3,000 milestone game. A relatively light crowd of 28,879 fans were on hand at Candlestick Park, for this July 18, 1970 contest between the San Francisco Giants and the Montreal Expos. The legendary Mays went 2/3 on the day, with a walk, a run and an RBI. Hit #3,000 came in the bottom of the second inning, when Mays ripped a single to center off Expos starter Mike Wegener.
Featured are (2) Candlestick Park issued gameday souvenirs from this historic event, with:
Ticket stub for Section 7, Box 2C, Seat 8, PSA NM 7, "1 of 1" at this grading tier, with just 1 higher.
San Francisco Giants program neatly scored for the whole game, with a "3000" notation in the second inning box on Mays' line. Showing Ex-Mt+ details, this handsome program is bright and clean, with a solid spine. This crisp program has been turned into a scrapbook of sorts. Adhered throughout are numerous newspaper clippings, including a congratulatory photograph of Mays, Stan Musial and Chub Feeney during the on-field celebration that took place when the umpires halted the game.
