Description

Vibrant graphics and a handsome wood case make this circa 1940s Marvel’s Slugger countertop arcade game a visual delight. This captivating treasure is fronted with a playing field behind glass painted with a batter, strings of pennants, and the title “Marvel’s Slugger”. Two knobs flank the coin deposit slide on the front. The smoothly functioning knob on the left moves a fielder outfitted with catching prongs along a path, to trap balls in play. The knob on the right is used to launch metal baseballs onto the studded field of play. While this knob turns, it does not generate enough force to propel the balls out of the batter’s box. Completing the design, is a counter at top-left of the window labeled “Batting Average”. All graphics present boldly and the wood case has a great look of period authenticity. A key in the back panel lock does not work.
