Description

Photography buffs round the bases with this 1940s-1960s Joe DiMaggio photograph collection (11). Reporting in generally appealing condition, these vintage photographs are Type I prints and other period prints. A fair number bear news service credit stamps on the reverse. Seen with DiMaggio are several notable baseball legends, such as Johnny Mize, Carl Hubbell and Frankie Frisch, and brother Dom makes an appearance as well.

8"x10" Joe DiMaggio with bat on the top step of the dugout, Vg-Ex due to one bent corner at top-right, otherwise crisp and clean;

7"x9" DiMaggio seated on dugout steps and shaking hands with a Yankees executive, while wearing a 1939 World's Fair patch on his left sleeve, Gd;

7"x9" DiMaggio with Dolph Camilli before Game 1 of the 1941 World Series is stamped on the reverse with a Wide World Photos news service credit stamp and an attached blurb sheet dated 10/1/41, Vg+;

8"x10" DiMaggio with Frank Crosetti with World Telegram credit stamp on the reverse, reported as circa 1962, Ex;

8"10" DiMaggio with Johnny Mize is stamp dated Aug 24, 1949 and Aug 30, 1949 on the reverse, which also bears a Detroit News Staff stamp with Photographer Ransom credit, Vg-Ex+;

7"x9" Joe and Dom DiMaggio in suits with an executive, Gd+;

7"x9" DiMaggio shaking hands with Yogi Berra and the batboy after hitting a home run is stamp dated 5/24/51 on the reverse, with the caption "Baseball at Stadium, Yankees-Detroit", Ex-Mt+;

8"x10" DiMaggio with Joe Pepitone in a circa 1960s shot with World Telegram & Sun credit stamp on the reverse, Ex;
