Lot # 49: Circa 1880s J.H. Bufford's Sons Lithograph Advertising Giveaway Baseball Fan

Cool off with this antique advertising giveaway baseball fan. This circa 1880s cardboard fan is printed with J.H. Bufford Sons Litho at bottom on the obverse. Depicting a baseball game in progress, this 19th Century treasure has a 7-1/2" diameter and is attached to a 9-1/2" wand. Styled as a baseball dream scene complete with stitches, the obverse artwork is a visual delight. Printed on the reverse is extensive advertising copy for the Boston Boot & Shoe Co., of Newburyport, Mass. Authentic period appeal is ample, and overall wear is age-appropriate, including a moderately chewed up perimeter.
