Gain in depth knowledge of the dead ball era, with this selection of (4) hardcover sports books. Dating from 1891-1919, these antique books focus mainly on Chicago Hall of Famers, with White Sox owner Charles Comiskey, and Cubs standout Johnny Evers. The earliest edition is an examination of international sports from English speaking countries, including American baseball. All four books take the field in decent to better condition.

Featured are:

1889 "Athletic Sports of America, England and Australia" published by Hubbard Brothers, with an introduction by Henry Chadwick, and multiple 1889 team photographs including Brooklyn, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Chicago, Louisville and others, along with illustrations such as "Ed Hanlon's Great Catch at Denver". Condition is Vg.

1910 "Baseball in the Big Leagues" by Johnnie Evers, published by The Reilly & Britton Company, with an Evers photograph and facsimile signature opposite the title page. Also pictured throughout are Frank Chance, Frank Baker, Honus Wagner, Nap Lajoie and others, along with significant baseball content. Condition is Vg with deference to writing on the back cover.

1910 "Touching Second" by Johnnie Evers and Hugh S. Fullerton, published by The Reilly & Britton Company, with an Evers photograph and facsimile signature opposite the title page. Photographs include Ty Cobb, "Red" Dooin, Nap Lajoie, Roger Bresnahan and others. Condition is VG-EX.

1919 "Commy" by G.W. Axelson, published by The Reilly & Lee Co. Photographs include Charles Comiskey as a player and owner, several Chicago White Sox team shots, and individual player images. Condition is Ex+ with deference to a small stain on the spine.
