The Father of Modern Boxing! Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. A dapper (Gentleman) Jim Corbett certainly looks the part on this circa 1890s Morrison Studio cabinet. The confident San Francisco native dons an elegant tux and top hat on this borderless gilt edged heirloom that was released by the Chicago-based company following Corbett's 1892 defeat of the legendary John L. Sullivan in New Orleans. Corbett presides as "Champion of the World" on this sturdy 4-1/8 x 6-7/16" artifact that showcases crystal clear nineteenth century imagery and bold golden advertising text. Aside from limited peripheral wear and incidental soiling, the front of this heavyweight relic has withstood the past 130+ years in prime condition. Limited reverse foxing and toning due to storing methods do not impact this Hall of Famer's overall presentation in the least. One of only four total copies validated by the authenticator!
