Description

Score big, when you bring home this Satchel Paige signed 8" x 10" photograph. After two decades of playing high level pro ball in the Negro Leagues, Paige walked through the door opened by Jackie Robinson, making his MLB debut in 1948 with the Cleveland Indians, at the tender age of forty-two. Issued by the Gateway Stamp Co., this vintage photograph pictures Paige in his St, Louis Browns uniform. Paige was with the Browns from 1951-1953 and made the AL All-Star team in 1952 and 1953. Paige (d.1982) has thoughtfully applied a bold signature in the open space at right on this photograph, which is a fairly tough type.
