A scarce Golden Age comic book surfaces, with this 8/44 Street & Smith Shadow Comics Vol.4, #5 issue. It's well-documented that many WWII era comic books were sent overseas to the boys battling on the front lines, never to return after being passed around from soldier to soldier, resulting in a short supply of comics published during the war years. This Shadow comic runs true to form, with a total CGC Universal Grade population of eleven. Fresh back from grading submission, this ancient comic has scored a respectable 4.0, Slightly Brittle Pages designation from CGC. The classic front cover sees the Shadow magically deploy his shadow across the street, to divert the attention of Japanese officer he's about to take prisoner. The cover caption sums it up nicely, with "The Shadow Brings Terror To Tokyo". Label notes are "Walter Gibson & Thornton Fisher stories, Charles Coll & Thornton Fisher art. Doc Savage backup story.".
