Lot # 1703: 1889 A54 Kinney Bros. "Leader" Album

These types of albums were available only by mail and were the top prize offered by the tobacco companies, making them highly prized by collectors. This A54 Kinney Bros. “Leaders” album (6x8) is in Good to Very Good condition. The string binding is frayed and coming loose and there is a tear on the bottom left cover. Otherwise, it is crisp and clean. The interior pages retain whiteness. Along with the images from the A54 tobacco card set, there are special color lithographs produced for the album featuring full pages with the likes of George Washington, Martha Washington, Julius Caesar, Napolean Bonaparte, Mary Queen of Scots and Jenny Lind.
