NFL head honcho Pete Rozelle's thirty years of running the league earned him a spot in the Hall of Fame. This Rozelle boldly signed check is looking to earn a spot in your collection. Major events were transpiring in the world of pro football at the time this National Football League check #2443 was made to attorney Robert D. Peloquin, on 9/7/67. Peloquin had joined the NFL Commissioner's office as Associate House Counsel in 1967, while Rozelle was overseeing the NFL's merger with the AFL. At the same time, both the NFL and AFL were adding expansion teams. Throughout the 1960s, Rozelle was raising the NFL's profile, and his successful pitch to sell Monday night games to ABC in 1970, paved the way to football becoming the biggest game in American sports. Rozelle's firm signature on the customary endorsement line of this check is fully satisfying, and the check remains crisp and clean.
