A brilliant uncirculated, better date coin is spotlighted, with the presentation of this 1889-S Morgan silver dollar. Like many of the Morgan dollar dates produced at the San Francisco Mint, the 1889-S was struck in a relatively small quantity. The original mintage was 700,000 coins, and the survival estimate for this date is 70,000 coins, of which 50,000 are believed to be in mint state. Displaying cartwheel luster and strong detail definition on the obverse and reverse, this coin has recently returned from NGC grading submission, with a favorable choice uncirculated grade of (MS63).
