Description

Frank “Home Run” Baker was the original home run king of the dead-ball era, hitting a whopping 12 home runs in 1913. Soon, after the league livened up the ball, a new king arrived on the scene by the name of Babe Ruth.

Nothing goes more to the heart of baseball than a fan requesting an autograph. This youth has written, “I have all of your records and admired you as a great hitter. I play Little League and I’m the catcher. I would be honored to have your autograph. Thank you very much…” Baker has responded by writing a note at the bottom of the letter dated April 21st, 1961, two years before he died. “Dear David, Every good wish for you in baseball. Kindest regards, Frank Baker.” The signature grades (“9”). The note is on 8x10 ringed notebook paper.
