The Star Spangled Avenger saves the day, with this selection of (9) different 1969-1970 Marvel Captain America comic books. A hit with WWII readers during the Golden Age, Cap was thawed from the ice in the 1960s, and became one of the leaders of the mega-popular Avengers super-hero team. His Silver Age revival led to space sharing with Iron Man in Tales of Suspense, and ultimately his own solo title in 1968. These classic comics date from the early days of Cap's solo run, encompassing the period just before and after he teamed up with the Falcon for the first time, and the majority see him battling his demonic arch-enemy, the Red Skull. All issues are in pleasing condition, and the star attraction has just returned from CGC grading submission.
The headliner is #117 with the first appearance of Falcon/Sam Wilson and Redwing, Red Skull appearance, Stan Lee story, Gene Colan and Joe Sinnott art, cover by Colan, Sinnott and John Romita, CGC graded (5.0, Off-White Pages).
Balance average (FN to FN-VF) with issue numbers: 114 Red Skull Cosmic Cube story, 115 Red Skull cover/story, 116 Red Skull cover/story, Avengers guest appearance, 118 second Falcon, 119 Red Skull cover/story, Cosmic Cube "destroyed", 120 "Crack-Up on Campus!", #121 origin retold, Avengers appearance, 122 Cap battles Scorpion.
