A prized coin type is spotlighted with this 1916-1930 Standing Liberty quarter near-complete set of 35/37. This series is seldom offered so close to completion, and this near-complete set really does represent a nice opportunity for those who would prefer to avoid a lengthy hunt or don't have much access to coin shows. Graced with an appealing design, this coin type sees Lady Liberty walking through a gate in a wall on the obverse, as she gazes east to the war raging in Europe, while the reverse is adorned with a proud Bald Eagle in flight.
Key dates are: 1919-D (VG), 1919-S (FN), 1920-D (FN), 1921 (FN+, nice full date), 1927-S (GD+).
Balance range GD to VG+ unless noted, with:
Type I: 1917, 1917-D, 1917-S;
Type II: 1917, 1917-D, 1917-S, 1918, 1918-D (numerous scratches), 1918-S, 1919, 1920, 1920-S (FN), 1923, 1924 (FN), 1924-D (FN), 1924-S (FN), 1925, 1926, 1926-D, 1926-S, 1927, 1927-D, 1928, 1928-D, 1928-S, 1929, 1929-D, 1929-S, 1930, 1930-S.
The two absent coins are the elusive 1923-S date (which is offered separately in this current auction as an NGC graded XF45 example), and the seldom offered 1916 date, which is rare in any grade.
