The most renowned of all the many Negro League teams, the Kansas City Monarchs fielded many a great player over their glorious run. Strong efforts from slugger Willard Brown, and ace hurlers Satchel Paige and Hilton Smith, helped the Monarchs dominate the Negro American League from 1937-1946, with 6 league titles over the 10-year period, plus a Negro World Series championship in 1942. Hall of Famer Hilton Smith surfaces here, with this signed and inscribed index card. Reporting as a 7-8 strength example, Smith's autograph is accompanied by the inscriptions "Pitcher KC Monarchs 14 Years". Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
