"The Old Roman" sends his greetings, along with a cherished autograph, with this 1921 typed letter signed. Forever counted on the positive side for his lifetime association with the game of baseball as a player, manager, team owner and a key figure in the founding of the American League, Charles Comiskey will also forever be linked to the dark side as the owner of the 1919 Chicago "Black Sox" team. His posthumous ascension to the Hall of Fame in 1939 cemented his importance in baseball history and his long ago demise in 1931, makes his autograph a major acquisition.

Take your best swing at this Comiskey signed letter, with is typed on Chicago White Sox letterhead, with Comiskey named as president and "Kid" Gleason named as manager at top left. Dated 7/19/21, this 8-1/2 x 11" letter is graced with an embossed logo of ornate design at top. Comiskey's correspondence is in response to satisfying an autograph request, and in this case he delivered in fine fashion, with a prominent ("8-9") strength steel tip fountain pen signature in black ink. Three horizontal folds and general age appropriate wear are noted, as is expected with an item of this nature. However, the page reports in very crisp state with distinct content, and owing to the prominent signature and the wonderful gold logo, this piece presents admirably.
