Due to his early death in 1925 at age 65, Brooklyn club owner Charles Ebbets' signed letters are more seldom seen than those of his contemporaries like, for example, the recipient here, Yankees owner Colonel Jacob Ruppert. At this time, the Dodgers were still known as the Superbas or Robins, and the 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of official team stationery features a nice engraved image of Ebbets Field. GD condition overall with a "7"-strength signature. The missive reads, in full,

"My dear Col: Our players have suggested and I believe talked it over with your players relative to playing a series of games between the Superbas and Yankees during the World's Series if the New York National League Club should open the series in Chicago. If this is done then we would have a chance to play our teams as suggested between October 6th and 13th; we could lay off the two days within these dates that the World's Series were being played in New York. Another thing, could you make up a team of your rookies to play us at Fort Hamilton on Sunday morning, September 30th for the benefit of the 13th Coast Artillery stationed there? kind regards, I am, Sincerely yours, "
