Description

"The Voice of the Yankees" calls out from the distant past, with these (2) Baltimore Orioles passes made to Mell Allen. One of the first two broadcasters to receive the Hall of Fame's Frick Award, Allen is best remembered for calling New York Yankees games from 1939-1964, and then again from 1976-1985, with spot appearances through 1990. Issued by the Orioles, these passes are a 1955 example good for The Press Lounge, and a 1969 World Series Hospitality Room pass. While Allen's name is written on both passes, the writing is not in Allen's hand. Both passes are appealing with colorful logos of the Orioles Bird mascot, though the 1955 pass is creased at left, and the 1969 pass has a couple of hole punches from use.
