Over several decades, Mr. Oliver Compton of Bridgewater, New Jersey sent letters to multiple Major League players asking them to relate their most thrilling experience in baseball. This is just one of the many offered in this auction. Meticulously collected, the letters average Excellent condition or better.

 

Clyde Sukeforth signed handwritten letter on 8 ½ x 11 blank stationery dated 4/16/89. The catcher writes, “but to answer your question, I would say opening day in Brooklyn 1947 (Robinson’s debut), the eventual World Series with the Yankees of ‘47 ‘49, along with the Opening day mentioned above seem to stand out in my memory.”
