Description

War has a cost for everyone. This notion is called to mind with the viewing of this Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio signed check display. Even ballplayers had to pay the price, with Williams losing five years of playing to time to WWII and the Korean War, while DiMaggio missed three seasons of play during WWII. Obviously taken during a better time, the photograph in this display sees the Hall of Fame sluggers smiling broadly. Stacked beneath the photo, are a Williams signed check dated Oct. 3, 1990; and a DiMaggio signed check dated Jan. 5, 1979. Both signatures are distinct, and the 18" x 22" frame is attractive with light wear. Fans robbed of many great talents during WWII, could only wonder what heights Williams, DiMaggio and other stars of the day would have reached if duty hadn't called.
