Lot # 77: 1896-1909 Team Composite & Collage Collection (15) from Fred Tenney Estate with Various Christy Mathewson Examples

From the estate of turn of the century ballplayer Fred Tenney, comes this 1896-1909 team/composite photograph collection (15). Clipped from antique guidebooks, these ancient photographs present in outstanding condition for the most part, with just one showing considerable wear. Plenty of period Hall of Famers are stars are counted, including several shots with Christy Mathewson. Tenney was a highly regarded first baseman with the Boston Beaneaters/Doves from 1894-1907, and he also served as manager from 1905-1907 and 1911, for the same franchise currently known as the Atlanta Braves.
