Description

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Summoned to the Major League ranks of a franchise at the peak of a dominance founded on stellar pitching, defense and fundamentals, Cal Ripken, Jr. was quick to fit the Baltimore Orioles mold, easing into the fold during a strike-shortened 1981 campaign and garnering Rookie of the Year plaudits in ’82. The offered full ticket arrives from the August 16, 1981, contest in which Ripken Jr. collected the first of 3,184 career base hits. Only 16,684 spectators were in attendance that summer Sunday afternoon which also witnessed an Eddie Murray grand slam, and a bench-clearing brawl! This ultimate "Iron Man" rookie collectible survived the melee in fantastic condition. Of the 5 total tickets judged by PSA, this Mezzanine Box voucher survives as 1 of 2 at the grading level with only two higher.
